Introduction
Sherlock 8 is available for some time now and all new applications should be developed with Sherlock 8
Our Sherlock CVB Driver supporting Sherlock 7 is now available for exactly 16 years, and it was used in a lot of systems since then. Due to changes of the driver interface in Sherlock 8 the old driver is not compatible with Sherlock 8.
Therefore we developed our new Sherlock 8 CVB GenICam Driver to give all Sherlock 8 users the option to use a supplier independent acquisition solution using Common Vision Blox.

Sherlock 8 CVB GenICam Driver 1.0.0
Supported cameras and grabbers
This driver gives you access to all cameras and grabbers with a GenICam compliant GenTL including all GigE Vision and USB 3 Vision cameras. CVB VIN drivers are not supported.
Easy configuration
The driver uses an automatic configuration of the driver setup by default. This configures the available cameras automatically and makes the acquisition configuration much easier compared to the driver for Sherlock 7.
A specific driver configuration is available as well to configure the cameras for the driver explicitly. For example, to use a specific order of the cameras. This is done in one single configuration file using the camera serial number or the device username for identification.
Licence:
Cost-effective through free CVB CameraSuite with GigE Vision and USB 3 Vision cameras purchased from Stemmer Imaging. Or by using a CVB Image Manager licence, which is also needed for cameras/grabbers interfaced via a GenICam compliant GenTL.
A licence via the Sherlock dongle only as it was supported with Sherlock 7 is not available with this driver.
Installation:
There is no installer available. A readme.txt file within the zip-file tells you the easy steps you need to do to get the driver to work with Sherlock 8 including an example Sherlock 8 drivers.ini file.
The INI configuration file contains the documentation how the cameras can be configured for the driver.
