**IMAGE ACQUISITION**

All 3D cameras from Automation Technology follow the [GenICam](https://help.commonvisionblox.com/NextGen/14.0/md_theory_of_operation_hardware __gen_i_cam__ c_v_b__user_guide.html#gcug_chmtopic67) standard which means that the image acquisition of the AT cameras in CVB is not different as with any other GenICam device.

**C-style API**

Within the installation directory of CVB you can find a variety of example tutorials for the different programming languages that demonstrate the main concepts of CVB, including how to:

- load driver and continuously acquire images (e.g. Image Manager → _GrabConsole_ & _SizeableDisplay_)
- run multiple cameras in parallel (e.g. Image Manager → CSharp → _MultiCam_)
- set paramaters of the camera (e.g. Hardware → GenICam → _GenICamExample_)

Please take a look at the corresponding section in the [CVB User Guide](https://help.commonvisionblox.com/NextGen/14.0/md_theory_of_operation_hardware __gen_i_cam__ c_v_b__user_guide.html#gcug_chmtopic64).

**Object Oriented APIs**

New users are encouraged to use the [object oriented APIs](https://forum.commonvisionblox.com/t/introducing-experimental-cvb-net-cvb-and-cvbpy-api/205) of CVB. Getting Started Guides include basic image acquisition concepts and can be found for `CVB.Net` and `CVBpy` in this forum. Tutorials for `CVB++` can be found within the directory of current CVB installations.

- `CVB++` (e.g. Image Manager → Cvb++ → _CppStreamConsole_)
- `CVB.Net` ([https://forum.commonvisionblox.com/t/getting-started-with-cvb-net/246](https://forum.commonvisionblox.com/t/getting-started-with-cvb-net/246))
- `CVBpy` ([https://forum.commonvisionblox.com/t/getting-started-with-cvbpy/241](https://forum.commonvisionblox.com/t/getting-started-with-cvbpy/241))

However, please be aware that not all functionality of the C-API is covered by the new APIs yet! If you encounter missing tools, be aware that you may have to combine the object oriented wrappers with CVB’s classic C-API.
